Tim Burton’s Universe
What's it about?
Welcome to the fantastic worlds of Tim Burton! We invite you on a journey through the music that has made a lasting impression on you. A unique concert will take place on October 29th at 8:00 PM in the atmospherically exceptional Kammermusiksaal in Graz. From the shimmering wonder of Alice in Wonderland to the festive magic of The Nightmare Before Christmas, from the eerie poetry of Edward Scissorhands to the eccentric brilliance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — this concert immerses you in the sound worlds that have shaped Burton's distinctive cinematic universe. The focus is on the music of Danny Elfman, Burton's long-time collaborator and one of the most distinctive film composers of our time. Elfman's music combines playfulness with menace, delicacy with grandeur — a perfect reflection of Burton's visual imagination. In addition to Elfman, unforgettable moments from Corpse Bride, the cult classic Beetlejuice, the dark-epic world of Batman, and the razor-sharp drama Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will also be featured. In this concert, the Mystery Ensemble brings Burton's worlds to life with unique arrangements. Look forward to floating voices, powerful instrumental colors, and an atmosphere that quickly transforms — from macabre to magical, from intimate to epic.
