The Guo Gan Swordmen Trio unites three outstanding virtuosos of traditional Chinese music into an impressive sound experience. Erhu master Guo Gan, a world-renowned soloist and the first Chinese folk musician to be awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture, captivates with his stage partners Liu Yi Qing on the Pipa and Chen Jian on the Guzheng. Together they create a program of classical works and new compositions, in which sung poems of the Tang Dynasty set a special accent. Erhu, Pipa and Guzheng create a multi-layered soundscape full of nuances and contrasts, accompanied by traditional Chinese dance by the graceful dancer Dai Mengjia.
