While the family struggles with the challenges of Amandus's forgetfulness – including decapitated hedges, charred shoes, and accidentally ignited fireworks – Tilda devises a wonderful plan: she takes her grandpa to Venice, where his great love story once began. Amidst quirky everyday moments, much heart, and a good dose of chaos, the play shows that while memories may fade, true love remains. Amandus and Tilda embark on a tragicomic journey and learn everything about forgetting, remembering, and the courage to always face reality with a smile. The underlying film from 2014, starring Dieter Hallervorden, reached an audience of 19 million and is considered one of the most successful German cinema comedies of recent years.
