Saved from extinction and re-cultivated by the land corn farmer Sepp as 'Gailtaler white land corn' The 'Gailtaler white land corn' is an old maize variety that has remained unchanged for centuries and was almost forgotten. A mountain guide, nature enthusiast, and passionate organic farmer rediscovered the seed on his farm. Previously, this ancient corn had to give way to more productive hybrid varieties, until Sepp Brandstätter began to cultivate this maize again and found suitable soils in the Gailtal. Free from artificial fertilizers but grown with a lot of idealism and commitment, the resilient and completely GMO- and gluten-free grain is now growing around Brandstätter's farm in Würmlach. The manual seed harvest ensures the purity of the seed, maintaining its high quality.
