What's it about?

On the occasion of Hellmut Bruch's 90th birthday, Museum Liaunig dedicates a comprehensive retrospective to the internationally renowned artist. The exhibition, curated by Günther Dankl, honors one of the most significant representatives of concrete-constructive art in the German-speaking world. Since the late 1960s, Hellmut Bruch has pursued an artistic path of extraordinary consistency. His work is based on two fundamental principles: reduction to the essential and the openness of form as an invitation to independent thought. From this attitude, a distinctive visual language developed, combining mathematical order, philosophical reflection, and sensual perception. The retrospective traces the development from early experimental works to current pieces.
