Art exhibition KARIN PLIEM | HORTUS DELICIARUM In her five-part installation in the garden shed of Ebenau Castle, Karin Pliem guides us through the vital order of the material world into the 'seventh heaven,' which according to Aristotle marks the boundary between the outermost sphere of the perceptible world and the invisible spiritual realm – a timeless state of density, relationship, and resonance. The path begins in an environment called 'Garden of Delights' (hortus deliciarum), composed of real, plastically arranged natural objects and virtually painted imagery. The image opposite the entrance shows a wooden bridge leading through a thicket of blooming plants and animals associated with the element water to a beyond-the-shoreless river.
