What's it about?
For fifteen years now, Sebastian Radon and Verena Doublier have been passionately composing, singing, and writing lyrics as a duo through their everyday worlds. In 2027, Wiener Blond, with a new album in tow, is on tour through Austria and Germany for the first time since 2022, this time with a band. Their current album features pointed lyrics that span from the seemingly mundane to the big questions of the present day. They humorously outline the challenges of digital modernity and offer various hopeful perspectives and possible survival strategies — musically packaged in a distinctive form of urban pop music, with influences as diverse as city life itself. Following the great success of their collaboration with the original Wiener Salonensemble, a new long-player will be released in 2027, leaving behind the string sounds and café house coziness to once again celebrate the pure joy of groove and harmony. Musically, the duo is supported on stage by Raphaela Fries on drums and Marc Bruckner on bass. The four-piece band provides a spectacular, danceable musical backdrop for the songs, which, as always, center around texts and melodies crafted by Wiener Blond.
