INGEBORG BACHMANN - An Ingeborg Bachmann EveningOn the occasion of Ingeborg Bachmann's 100th birthday, Theater Wolkenflug presents a poetry performance with selected poems by the writer at Architekturhaus Kärnten. The poems trace stations from Bachmann's early life and open up a personal approach to a writer whose thinking and writing were lastingly shaped by a youth in conservative Carinthia during the interwar period, the experiences of the Second World War and its aftermath. War, loss, fear and the search for a language for what was experienced are addressed, as are the longing and the urge for freedom, love and a self-determined life. The actresses Katarina Hartmann and Magda Kropiunig explore Bachmann's early life through her poetry on stage, supported by cellist Alenka Piotrowicz. Her music complements, contrasts and comments.
