Climbing the Hoher Dachstein (B/C)

What's it about?

The nearly 3000-meter-high Dachstein is one of the major mountains in the Alps. Depending on the glacier conditions, we will either ascend via the Randkluft (crevasse gap) or via the slightly longer shoulder ascent. These ascents are secured with via ferrata routes (difficulty B, section C). The scenic, but somewhat longer crossing (Westgrat) with return via the Steinerscharten can also be undertaken. Technical climbing skills are not necessarily required, but fitness and a head for heights are. The tour ends around 2:00 PM. Meeting point at 7:30 AM at the Dachstein cable car valley station. Cost: from 160 euros, includes guide and equipment.
