What's it about?

December 21, 2025 - 6:00 PM – Kirchplatz Gams Parade of the traditional Gamser Thomasnikologruppe and the celebration for their recognition as part of Austria's Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Thomasnacht, the longest night of the year, is celebrated in Gams as a dignified tradition. The Thomasnikogruppe, with its traditional symbolic figures, brings light into the darkness and gives small gifts to children. The group includes White Thomas, St. Thomas, the Sack Carrier, the Nikolofrau, the Elder, the Thomas Hat, and the Krampusse.
