What's it about?
Loud nonsense and Dixieland: "Very Old Stoariegler Dixielandband" in Leoben. The complete "Very Old Stoariegler Dixielandband" has fallen in love — with the Stadttheater Leoben, to be precise. And so, a year after their very successful debut at the "small State Opera," they return and do what they do best: "nonsense" and Dixieland. Founded in March 1976 on Stoarieglberg in Fürstenfeld, they follow in the footsteps of the great models of Dixieland, Swing, and slapstick comedy. The probably "funniest jazz band in Austria" (Peter Rapp) travels with Dixieland classics by Louis Armstrong, Chris Barber, Sidney Bechet, or Louis Prima, and hits like Hello Dolly, Ice Cream, Oh When The Saints, Struttin' With Some Barbecue, Yes Sir, among others, to Leoben, entertaining their audience as in the past. Of course, arrangements by Spike Jones and Mickey Katz, as well as the Danube Waltz and the Shoe Shine Song, are also included. Guaranteed in the program: new arrangements like "Indiana" and "Beer Barrel Polka" (Rosamunde) make "Tschäss ohne Gnade" a high-level fun experience. The band around Johannes Hödl is legendary, having once won the Styrian band competition (1977), toured with Fatty George and trumpeter Oscar Klein, performed at the New Year's Eve show 1989 in Sölden with Karl Moik and Hias, and played with Andi Borg in "The Big Chance" (1981).
