The Poetry Slam returns to Leoben! On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the Stadttheater Leoben will become the stage for a literary competition full of creativity, humor, and emotions, starting at 7:30 PM. Whether it's wordplay in dialect, touching poetry, rhythmic rhyming art, or socially critical texts – Poetry Slam combines entertainment with depth. Each performance is unique, and the audience experiences a varied evening between high culture and cabaret. With this comeback, Leoben builds on its successful Poetry Slam tradition, which was significantly shaped by the late cultural award winner Günter "Tschif" Windisch. Together with the Slam Kollektiv Graz, the city of Leoben brings the popular event format back to Erzberg-Leoben. Look forward to top-class slam poets from Vienna, Germany, and Graz, as well as courageous newcomers who can participate in the competition via the open list.
