Wiener Blut - that's Viennese charm, a rush of melodies, and a pinch of amorous turbulence in three acts! Presented as a "comic operetta," this musical gem showcases the unmistakable style of the Waltz King Johann Strauss (Jr.), artfully assembled by the shrewd Kapellmeister Adolf Müller Junior. The libretto was written by Victor Léon and Leo Stein. Although the elderly Strauss was no longer healthy enough to compose a new stage work, after some urging he was convinced: Müller Jr. wove over 30 of the master's works - including immortal waltzes like "Wiener Blut" and "Morgenblätter," as well as the polka schnell "Leichtes Blut" - into a delightful potpourri of joie de vivre. The plot? Just as it should be: a fireworks display of emotions surrounding the charming Count Zedlau, who gets entangled in a web of mistaken identities and affairs during the Congress of Vienna. But don't worry - as befits an operetta, a happy ending awaits...
