An evening about democracy, cohesion, and the future of Austria — just a few weeks after the book's release by Brandstätter Verlag. Two defining voices of Austria Heinz Fischer, Federal President of the Republic of Austria from 2004 to 2016, looks back on a life closely intertwined with the history of the Second Republic. Corinna Milborn, political scientist and one of the country's most prominent journalists, asks the questions of the present — from migration to the future of public debate. The book "Worauf es ankommt" How resilient is our democracy? How do we deal with extreme positions? What holds Austrian society together? In conversation, Fischer and Milborn combine personal and political experience with a clear analysis of the present — a book that provides orientation and shows options for action. Following the reading, there will be an opportunity for discussion and a book signing.
