Seminar „Pilze im Raum Graz“
What's it about?
Properly collecting and identifying mushrooms: A practical mushroom seminar in Graz, where participants, under expert guidance, explore the autumn mushrooms of the Graz mixed forests. After an introductory session, everyone goes out to collect, and then the finds are used to create a labeled mushroom exhibition that invites close inspection and photography. In the afternoon, Dr. Uwe Kozina and Gernot Friebes MSc (both from the Working Group for Native Mushrooms at the Universalmuseum Joanneum) present the collected species, explain identification features, toxicity, edibility, and ecological significance of the mushrooms. The event combines practical collecting with expert knowledge and provides space for questions. Please bring: - Basket or similar container - Pocket knife - Magnifier (if available) - Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear - No plastic bags Important notes: - Dogs are not allowed. - Cash payment on site is not possible. - In bad weather, the forest school may cancel for safety reasons.
