Waving The Guns
What's it about?
And it goes stubbornly through the polycrisis! Since 2012, humanity has been able to experience concerts by Waving The Guns. Much has happened since then, in Germany, the world, and in the music of WTG. The enthusiasm for live performances has remained constant, if not even grown. Over the years, few opportunities were missed to present battle rap attitude and wordplay entertainment with appropriate political stance on various stages. Sometimes, a wolf must be dressed up to disturb the pigsty. In this cosmos, statements to sing along with and registered doubts to listen to make a great tennis match. In one hand, the sledgehammer; in the other, the dissection kit; and in the waistband, humor and healthy distance from oneself to never forget that one is also just — no more, no less — a creator of output into the world. Never sweep culture under the rug, never elevate cultural creators to too high a pedestal. And always develop further, musically and humanly, without losing the necessary sharpness. Find new approaches, adopt new perspectives (from which one can reflect as well as shoot), get more out of language, and — PLEASE! — have as much fun as possible, for yourself and with others. This attitude, paired with a simple but effective live production and energetic stage presence, creates dramaturgically well-curated evenings of community, solidarity, humor, and simply good entertainment. Because despite all the attitude, exclamation marks, and attitude: in the end, they are here for your entertainment, because fun still has 3 letters: W, T, and G!
