Cordoba78 are the most exciting new band Austria has to offer right now – and they know exactly how to turn a club into a stadium. Sweaty shirts, oversized suits, guitar solos like from the last century. Sometimes it sounds like the end of a party, sometimes like the beginning of something very big. Mostly both. What started as a jam session in the rehearsal room has become one of the most thrilling band stories in the German-speaking area in two years: 60 live shows in summer 2026, support for Ennio, Betterov, and the Sportfreunde Stiller – and in autumn their first own tour through 15 cities. "We are not a Vienna band," says singer Carlo. "We come from a small town. Because it proves that clever, loud, leftist music can also come from there." Behind the sound are: Carlo Giulio Sossella (vocals), Tobias Fussenegger (guitar), Paul Pichler (piano), Georg Pinter (bass), and Alex Fetz (drums) – somewhere between indie, pop, and cathartic grandeur. Roaring blues guitar, soul piano, stadium melancholy. A collective ecstasy with ambition. Their debut album AFTERHOUR KALTENBRUNNEN will be released on 31.07.2026, and they will take it on tour: 14 songs about intoxication and hangover, anger and love, after-hours and the brief happiness in between – born from nights between Vienna, Vorarlberg, and people who stay, and those you have to let go. Cordoba78 has big plans for 2026. And you definitely should not be there.
