Collectif XY & Rachid Ouramdane | France Möbius The French Collectif XY stands for a bold combination of acrobatics, dance, and poetry. Together with choreographer Rachid Ouramdane, the nineteen artists have developed an athletic-choreographic language that makes visible the tension between the individual and the community. Möbius shows the courage to express differences and tells of the conflict-ridden, yet joyful path of each individual to their place in the group. In Möbius, the artists explore the limits of acrobatics using natural phenomena such as murmurations, i.e., the flight behavior of starlings in fluid movements that combine to form a living swarm. The minimalist, immaculately white stage design opens up a seemingly boundless space that rhythmically fills and empties - a sensitive terrain where nature and culture, body and mind merge. Möbius is an ode to life and to the necessity of collaborative creation as the basis for survival, renewal, and invention. The much-celebrated production has been performed over 300 times in fifteen countries.
