picture on festival 2026: First bands confirmed A village becomes a colourful stage Festival friends know: the picture on festival in the tranquil southern Burgenland village of Bildein, with its 350 inhabitants, is a very special highlight in the Austrian event calendar. Small and fine, familiar and yet with a very big programme in the middle of the village - only Bildein can do that. Appropriately, on the second weekend in August, the next edition will take place on August 7 and 8, 2026. Just in time for the start of advance sales, the volunteer organising team is now presenting the first band package: The "Bad Boys of Reggae" INNER CIRCLE with over 50 years of stage history and many super hits can be seen for the first time in Bildein. CARI CARI delight us with comparatively young, fresh indie rock with connections to Burgenland. A double-packed load of crossover comes from the pioneers of their field: H-BLOCKX are guests with us for the first time, while CLAWFINGER makes a long overdue reunion. Just as iconic: the British hip-hop electronica legends STEREO MCs. The local ska-punk troupe GUADALAJARA can also be described as legendary. ANNA BUCHEGGER, the genre-crossing dialect pop star of the hour, is also there, as is the Amadeus Award-winning indie folk of SODL. In total, around 30 acts will be seen in the small border village during the festival weekend. The musical concert series will also be expanded to include a diverse supporting programme: programme items such as the unique reading project Anschiffen am Pinkastrand under the direction of Christoph F. Krutzler, the opening party at the campsite, the open-air concert by the music association or the musical village walk will turn the entire village into a stage.
