
Experience ancient craftsmanship up close! The craft of boot-making has a centuries-long tradition in Rechnitz. In 1923, 36 master bootmakers were still counted! At that time, everything in Rechnitz revolved around the black shaft boots, called Csizma in Hungarian. Today, this high craftsmanship is almost forgotten. The interesting and valuable heritage of this craftsmanship is presented in the Bootmaker's Museum. Discover a completely furnished shoemaker's workshop, marvel at old tools, market and guild chests, sewing machines, fulling machines, and many other remarkable exhibits.
