Innovative Aspects for Pedagogical Practice "7 Tage für Frieden - The Burgenland Peace Education Symposium" is taking place for the sixth time this year. The event series originated from the Burgenland Peace Conference, which will be held for the eighth time at Friedensburg Schlaining this year. Under the motto "Learning Peace – Living Democracy – Taking Responsibility," the Private Pedagogical University (PPH) Burgenland, together with the Austrian Centre for Peace (ACP), the Education Directorate Burgenland (BD), and the Child and Youth Advocacy (KiJA) Burgenland, invites from October 1 to 7, 2026, to a diverse program week. We have put together a varied, practice-oriented program — with a rich mix of workshops, online events, a peace conference, and more. All details and further information can be found in the event folder: Peace Conference Event Flyer, 7 Tage für Frieden Folder. 7 Tage für Frieden 2026: Learning Peace – Living Democracy – Taking Responsibility The kick-off is the 8th Burgenland Peace Conference, where we will welcome two exciting experts at Friedensburg: The well-known journalist and Middle East foreign correspondent Karim El-Gawhary with the lecture "When Media Lose Trust – Between Narrative and Reality" and the multiple award-winning migration researcher Judith Kohlenberger on the topic "Who Belongs? Migration, Belonging, and the Boundaries of Democracy." Target Audience The target group includes individuals working in pedagogical professions as well as students of the Private Pedagogical University Burgenland.
