Support: 'ALICE IN ROCK' feat. Günter Prangl (ROCKIP legend) Nazareth rose from performing in pubs, clubs, and dance halls in their Scottish homeland to become one of the world's most successful rock bands. They were pioneers who brought Scottish rock to international prominence, paving the way for many other great Scottish bands like Simple Minds, Texas, Big Country, Del Amitri, etc. The original four members first came together in Pete Agnew's band "The Shadettes" in 1968, renamed themselves "Nazareth" in 1970, and subsequently recorded a string of worldwide hits. Since the early 70s, the band has continuously written new music to this day, and their repertoire includes hits from five decades. Songs like "Broken Down Angel", "Bad Bad Boy", "Turn On Your Receiver", and "My White Bicycle" shaped the international charts, as did the mega-hits "Dream On", "This Flight Tonight", "Hair Of The Dog", and of course "Love Hurts". The band has not only built a huge fan base but has also influenced numerous significant artists - some have even covered Nazareth songs (including Guns N' Roses with "Hair Of The Dog" and Metallica with "Please Don't Judas Me"). Although they gratefully accept recognition for their studio recordings, Nazareth attributes their success primarily to one thing: touring, touring, and more touring - and they continue to tour with no intention of ever stopping.
