Legends of Austropop: Boris Bukowski, Reinhold Bilgeri, Minisex and Schick Sisters Celebrate Opus at the Wiesen Festival Grounds. Austropop icon Boris Bukowski celebrates his 80th birthday – and invites to a grand anniversary concert on August 15th in Wiesen. At "Legends of Austropop," he meets companions like Reinhold Bilgeri, Minisex, the Schick Sisters with Opus mastermind Ewald Pfleger. Together, they will celebrate an evening entirely dedicated to Austropop – full of hits, memories, and goosebump moments. He met the Fritze with the syringe, felt good on cocaine, and wore his love like a coat. Few Austrian artists have shaped local music across generations as much as Boris Bukowski. In 2026, the cult musician turns 80 and celebrates this with the anniversary concert "Legends of Austropop" on August 15th in Wiesen. But Bukowski is not a dusty monument; he is still a vibrant part of the scene, provocative, touching, and full of energy. And so, this evening will not be a retrospective, but a celebration of a musical way of life, Austropop! Of course, long-time companions like Reinhold Bilgeri, Minisex, the Schick Sisters, and Opus mastermind Ewald Pfleger cannot be missed at this unique concert. Reinhold Bilgeri Multi-talented Reinhard Bilgeri is also in a celebratory mood, as the singer, writer, and filmmaker marks his 60th stage anniversary. The list of his successes is long and probably unique in Austria. Three million records sold, 25 chart hits, many of them worldwide like "Video Life" or "Some Girls are Ladies," plus author of numerous novels and highly successful in cinema with the film adaptation of his bestseller "Der Atem des Himmels." A look at the charts shows that the "Rock Professor" still inspires today. Two of his biggest hits ("Video Life" and "Some Girls are Ladies") have re-entered the iTunes charts in a new form. Minisex All in white, but without a bouquet of flowers, Rudi Nemeczek and his Minisex present themselves. The most successful New Wave band ("Ich fahre mit dem Auto," "Rudi gib acht," and "Du kleiner Spion") between Lake Neusiedl and Lake Starnberg reinvents itself regularly. This also influences the songs the band currently performs. "We play some underground classics from the era of a new beginning in the late 70s and new material from recent years. Of course, we also bring all the big hits from the 80s," explains Rudi Nemeczek. So, what can one expect from a Minisex concert in 2026? "The performance is highly energetic and quite unpolished," says Nemeczek. Schick Sisters Celebrate Opus After Opus singer Herwig Rüdisser finally retired from the stage in 2021, the Schick Sisters, together with Opus mastermind Ewald Pfleger, are performing with the program "Schick Sisters Celebrate Opus." The live set includes a variety of Opus hits, as well as songs from their first joint album "We Are One." Organizer of the "Legends of Austropop" is event legend Wolfgang Werner from artist4ever.at. "This anniversary concert in Wiesen makes history, because here the legendary spirit and soul of Austropop come alive again. Therefore, it is an honor for me to celebrate this musical highlight together with such great artists and to offer our guests an experience of the highest class."
