The new Climate and Energy Model Region KEM witus invites you to "Full Power" How can you save electricity with simple means, how can you make the best use of your already installed or planned photovoltaic system, how does a portable household storage unit work, how do you become a member of the energy community? These and many other questions will be explained and transparently clarified by expert speakers at the info evening entitled "Full Power" on Thursday, September 17, at 8 p.m., in the Mellau village hall. "Full Power" is organized by the new Climate and Energy Model Region in the five witus communities of Schnepfau, Reuthe, Mellau, Bizau, and Bezau, which started the two-year implementation phase of measures related to climate protection, renewable energy, and biodiversity this spring. KEM witus, as it is compactly named, is part of the witus cooperative and is coordinated by Margit Hinterholzer. After some impulses in the spring in the areas of kindergartens, mobility, municipal energy accounting, and composting, the focus is now on energy and, thus, the very current topic of energy storage. To gain broad impact, KEM witus, in cooperation with "Erneuerbare Energie Bregenzerwald" (EEB) and the KLIMACENT association, will also address the convenient acquisition of household-sized storage devices. The project is called "Nachtstrom 2.0" and aims to store self-produced PV electricity during the day and then use it for one's own consumption at night or sell it. How this works and how much you save will be demonstrated with concrete examples by EEB chairman Erich Reiner and Patrick Domig from KLIMACENT. A sample storage unit will also be on site at the event in Mellau, so you can test its simple handling yourself. For all existing and new EEB members from the five witus communities, a financial advantage will also be offered, making entry with the storage modules even more attractive. In addition, there will be tips on saving energy and on the "Einfach Dämmen" (Simply Insulate) initiative, about which Verena Engstler and Ariane Weifner from Energieinstitut Vorarlberg will speak. "I wouldn't have thought it was so easy," will probably be heard often at this info evening. Because: When renovating your own home, insulating heating pipes and the attic is a crucial process that saves up to a quarter of heating energy. If you want to tackle this as a "DIY project," the campaign helps with advice, action, and favorable purchasing conditions for the necessary materials. Another interesting input will be given by the program manager of "Energieautonomie" (Energy Autonomy) of the state of Vorarlberg, Christian Vögel: "Every kilowatt-hour not consumed counts," is his credo. And how this happens in every single household with simple means and conscious handling will be impressively presented by the head of the specialist department. After the short presentations, representatives will also be available at the info tables on site for all topics offered. In a personal conversation, one or two questions can be answered or a consultation can be arranged. Partners include Erneuerbare Energie Bregenzerwald, KLIMACENT, Energieinstitut Vorarlberg, Land Vorarlberg, KEM witus, and representatives from the business community. Admission is free for all interested parties from the witus communities and beyond; registration is requested at kem@witus.at.
