TiAN - Generation Farmfluencer
What's it about?
Hunger.Macht.Profite.15 - Film Days on the Right to Food TiAN – Generation Farmfluencer Thursday, November 26, 2026, 7:00 PM, Altes Kino Rankweil A young generation of farmers is taking action. They are rethinking agriculture, bringing fresh ideas, and facing the challenges of our time. TiAN – derived from the South Tyrolean dialect word for "to do" – stands for this awakening. The focus is on young farmers who have consciously chosen a life in agriculture. Between tradition, the effects of the climate crisis, and economic pressure, they forge their own paths and demonstrate that change is possible. They show what agriculture of tomorrow could look like and what adjustments are needed, including on the part of consumers, to make agriculture sustainable. TiAN is an encouraging documentary about young people in agriculture and their ideas to make farming future-proof. Followed by a film discussion with Thomas Schäfer and Meike Hollnaicher. South Tyrol 2024, 60 minutes, in South Tyrolean dialect, with German subtitles Hunger.Macht.Profite.15 - Film Days on the Right to Food Since 2006, the Film Days on the Right to Food – Hunger.Macht.Profite. – have brought critical documentary films about the global connections in agriculture and food production to Austrian cinemas. How are young people in agriculture doing? What are the effects of pesticides? How can food sovereignty be achieved amid war and repression? And how do we find the courage to change the existing power structures? In this twentieth-anniversary edition of Hunger.Macht.Profite., we explore all these questions. The global food system is in crisis. But this also presents an opportunity for change! In the subsequent film discussions, invited speakers will present local initiatives, and we will discuss our options for action with experts. An event organized by FIAN Austria, normale.at, ÖBV-Via Campesina Austria, and Attac.
