Organ tour with Johannes Hämmerle and Thomas Schuler

Wednesday 26 August · 00:00Tschagguns · vorarlberg

What's it about?

The main organ in the gallery of the Parish and Pilgrimage Church of Tschagguns, dedicated to the Birth of Mary, was built in 1816 by Joseph Bergöntzle from Alsace in the Alsatian-French style. It was the last and largest organ by the famous organ builder. Over time, it was remodelled several times, mostly to its detriment. In 1994, it was decided to restore it to its 1816 form, carried out by the Swiss organ builder Georges Lhote and Ferdinand Stemmer. In addition to the electric blower, the organ can still be supplied with wind by a human-powered bellows. Furthermore, the Parish and Pilgrimage Church of Tschagguns has a chest organ made in Romania under the direction of Ferdinand Stemmer in 2011, as well as a Styrian house organ that can still be operated with bellows, and a portative organ. The meeting point is in front of the church.Duration of the tour: approx. 30-45 minutesPlease use public transport for your journey
