There are places where not only sky and earth meet, but also two worlds. Such a special place is located slightly above Oberlech at an altitude of 1780 meters. There, at Tannegg, in an impressive alpine setting amidst the nature of the Arlberg, the Skyspace-Lech by American artist James Turrell awaits — an underground space of color and light, seemingly more artificial and otherworldly than anything else, combining the experience of art and nature. The Skyspace Lech reveals its true purpose at sunrise and sunset when it unleashes its full light magic. A light installation with composed color sequences bathes the ceiling and walls of the Skyspace in changing, colorful light. The spectrum ranges from delicate, diffuse color streaks to glowing, intense hues, which also seem to color the sky visible through the opening in the ceiling above the Skyspace.
