What's it about?

Sarah is a successful investment banker – her life: efficient, meticulously planned, success-oriented. When her father and his Caribbean wife unexpectedly announce their visit, she promptly orders a fiancé from the "Rent a Friend" agency. But instead of the sophisticated gentleman double, Gabriel shows up: skater look, questionable attitude, unclear intentions. A hilarious game of confusion begins – and with every lie, a little more truth comes to light. "Rent a Friend" is Folke Braband's charming romantic comedy about playing with expectations and truths – full of pace, wit, and heart. And in the end, the most beautiful of all questions arises: How honest can we be – with others and with ourselves?
