Kitzbühel, Tyrol
The church, built in 1414, served as a place of worship during times of war and plague. The "Kupferschmidaltar" is the only remaining winged altar in the district. Like the figures of the apostles Andrew and James displayed in the choir and the enthroned Madonna on the south wall, it dates from around 1500. The round window with the rainbow motif on the west side, like the copper plaques with the names of the fallen, commemorates the church's designation as a war memorial. In the old fire watch room of the tower, the carillon reminds of the victims of the war. Services: Wednesday & Friday 08:30
