Our hike first leads over the foaming Alelebach and through a rustic stone pine forest up to the Friesenbergalm. We continue along the stone-slab path into the valley of the Lapenkarbach. Here we see the historic Friesenberghaus for the first time. From the refuge, we first hike on to the picturesque Friesenbergsee, which is often covered with snow and ice until summer. The Petersköpfl is located above the Friesenberghaus at an altitude of 2,679 m. On this summit stands an entire army of stone figures, so-called "Stoanmandln", around whose origin and meaning numerous stories entwine. In combination with the lake, this is one of the five most beautiful panoramic views of the Zillertal Alps! After a comfortable stop at the Friesenberghaus, we hike back along the same path to the Schlegeisspeicher.
