Discovery tour through the history on the Copper Ore Trail Immerse yourself in a long past world and experience the fascinating history of mining firsthand! Our guided hike takes you along the Copper Ore Trail up to the historic Berghaus/Knappenhaus – a place where the hard life of the miners once pulsed. Along the way, you will discover traces of mining that date back to the Copper Age or prehistory: old spoil heaps, mysterious tunnel entrances, and the abandoned open-pit mine. At Kramstollen, you gain exciting insights into early ore extraction, while standing among the remains of the Georgi-Unterbau installation and imagining the enormous work of the miners. Another highlight: the archaeological finds at Kropfsberg Castle, which provide fascinating insights into life and economy of past centuries.
