What's it about?

A Christmas tree, a nativity scene, atmospheric Christmas carols and 200 angels, shepherds and animals: The mountain Christmas in Igls takes place every year on December 23rd at 5:30 PM in the village center of Igls. And promises a special pre-Christmas experience. Christmas carols are sung in the village square in front of a Christmas tree and a nativity scene. Afterwards - from 6:00 PM - the procession begins. 200 angels, shepherds and animals accompany the sleigh with the Christ Child, Mary and Joseph from the Old Town Hall through the village center into the garden behind the Tourist Information. Atmospheric performances with a living nativity scene and Christmas music are of course part of it. The St. Aegidius choir sings Christmas carols, brass groups from the Igls-Vill music band provide Christmas music. The event concludes with a jointly sung "Silent Night, Holy Night".
