To the High Mountain Chapel in Zillergrund

What's it about?

Our tour starts in Bärenbad and leads us directly to the "King of the Mountains". In the "Steinbock.Welten" (Ibex Worlds) we learn more about the exciting history of these fascinating animals, and can also observe real ibex in the enclosure. In the wild nature of the Zillertal Alps, there is currently a population of around 110 animals. Then we hike past the Zillergründl reservoir to the picturesquely situated high-mountain chapel (2,275 m), which is dedicated to Saint Valentin. As a reward for the steep ascent, a magnificent view of the wild, glaciated mountain world of the Reichenspitz group awaits us. After a stop and refreshment at Gasthaus Adlerblick, we take the public bus from Zillergründl reservoir back to Mayrhofen.
