Regular traditional Heimat- & Brauchtumsabende (homeland and customs evenings) including drinks service take place at the market square in Wagrain. On these pleasant evenings, the Wagrain folk dance and Schuhplattler group passionately demonstrate their skills. On some evenings, the Wagrainer "Herreiter" & "Goaßlschnalzer" are also present. Goaßlschnalzen is an Austrian custom. The name is explained by the term for the coachman's whip, in dialect Goaßl. Schnalzen refers to the loud cracking sound made by the whip due to its rapid movement. Enjoy the evenings with free admission and drinks service.
