What to expect: Wherever 'Silent Night, Holy Night' is sung, it causes time to stand still for a moment — whether during the Christmas Eve service, at home under the Christmas tree, or playing on the radio. It remains a testament to the deeply human need for peace and reflection, which connects and reconciles across the boundaries of faiths and continents. The 'Silent Night Museum' in Pflegerschlössl is dedicated not only to the life and work of the poet Joseph Mohr (1792-1848), who spent the last eleven years of his life as a vicar in Wagrain, but also to the global dissemination and impact of the song. The location for this unique museum project, Pflegerschlössl, is particularly suitable. Built in 1794 for the highest archiepiscopal administrator, it has withstood political and social upheavals, served as an administrative and court building, then as a school, bell foundry, blacksmith's shop, residence, and ultimately became a museum. Civil wedding ceremonies: Pflegerschlössl is not only the 'home' of the Silent Night Museum but also offers a unique setting for an unforgettable wedding (accessible, approx. 60 persons).
