What's it about?

After a one-year break, amateur cycling returns to Bischofshofen in 2026. On August 15, the "Gainfeld-Classic" enters its next round. "There is a large cycling community in the state of Salzburg. It is important to my team and me to offer a platform for amateur cyclists. We are excellently supported by the municipality of Bischofshofen in our efforts to offer an exciting race format for recreational athletes, which is why preparations for the next edition of the Gainfeld-Classic are already underway," announces organizing committee head Peter Stankovic about the next mountain race in Bischofshofen. The cycling mountain sprint leads - as in previous years - over 3.4 km and 281 meters of altitude from Oberer Stadtplatz in Bischofshofen via the Gainfeld to the finish line at Gschwendtgut. "The race is open to road bikes, gravel bikes, and mountain bikes - but in a combined classification. There will be 3 women's and 7 men's classes, as proven," Stankovic announces. Since promoting young athletes is a central concern for the organizing team, there will also be a children's race again. "We would be delighted if many cycling enthusiasts already mark the date for the Pongau cycling event and come to Bischofshofen in August," says organizing committee head Stankovic. The Gainfeld-Classic 2026 is also part of the Jedermann/Senioren Rad-Cup (jedermannmasterradcup.at).Registrations are possible from April 2026 at http://www.lin-time.at/. Details about the event will be announced on our Facebook page "Gainfeld Classic" and on https://www.aufiowi.at.The organization of the cycling mountain sprint is carried out in cooperation with the Aufi & Owi Mountainbike und Laufclub St. Johann im Pongau.
