Open-Air Photography Exhibition “Seeing Dementia in a New Light” The open-air photography exhibition features award-winning images from the nationwide competition “Desideria Prize for Photography” and shows people with dementia and their families – close, honest, and beyond common clichés. The photographs invite viewers to look more closely. They focus on life with dementia, on what changes and what remains. They show vulnerability and strength, farewell and closeness, everyday life and dignity. The exhibition “Seeing Dementia in a New Light” intentionally places the topic in public spaces. Here, where people meet, where questions arise, and conversations begin. We invite you to the photography exhibition “Seeing Dementia in a New Light” from October 19 to November 1, 2026, in the Burghausen City Park. Opening ceremony at the Garden Hall of the Bürgerhaus, Burghausen, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Cooperation partners and sponsors: Desideria Care e.V., self-help group for relatives of people with dementia, City of Burghausen, Local Alliance for People with Dementia in the Altötting district, AOK Bayern, and Sparkasse Altötting-Mühldorf. © Desideria Prize for Photography 2024 Marlies Pahlenberg.
