The exhibition provides insight into concepts of the afterlife and rituals surrounding death and remembrance in the major world religions as well as in lesser-known cultures, denominations, and religious traditions. 21 panels offer a wealth of information, photos, and symbols. The texts are understandable even without prior knowledge. Ten audio stations invite visitors to listen, for example, to songs and prayers used in funerals. Additionally, there are many tactile elements. With this exhibition, the St. Barbara Cemetery responds to the challenge of a multicultural and multi-religious society, which also plays an increasingly important role in the activities of a traditionally Christian-Catholic cemetery. It promotes dialogue, because dealing with death – before which everyone is equal – is unifying, as it concerns existentially significant issues for all people. Concept and texts: Andrea Mayer-Edoloeyi. Location: in the small farewell hall at the cemetery or meeting point at the porter, Friedhofsstr. 1.
