What's it about?
Under the musical direction of Reinhold Wieser, an extraordinary concert project will take place on December 20, 2026, in cooperation with the Oberndorf parish: "Vom Dunkel ins Licht" – an atmospheric journey through music, space, and light. Together with the band This is Kalea, the string ensemble Kiss, the Paris Lodron Ensemble, and a horn blower group, the project combines orchestral sound richness with heartfelt, three-part dialect songs. A specially developed lighting design makes the concert an impressive sound and sensory experience, allowing the Advent magic to be experienced in a unique atmosphere in a new way. A key part of the program is the songs of the band Kalea, whose music is characterized by great emotionality, depth, and passion. Their dialect songs are driven by strong imagery and touching lyrics, which are enjoyed by listeners – supported by the characteristic three-part harmony of the band, which gives the songs particular warmth and intensity. In combination with the strings of the Austrian Festival Orchestra, new impressive sound colors emerge. "Vom Dunkel ins Licht" creates an extraordinary musical experience that combines orchestral sound worlds, the art of dialect songs, and an impressive light design, thus setting a moodful highlight in the Advent and winter season. The light design of the project is in the hands of Wolfgang Hofer, who, together with the musicians, develops a visual dramaturgy that atmospherically connects music and church space. For the concert on December 20, 2026, two performances are planned: • First performance begins at 5:00 PM • Second performance begins at 7:30 PM Drinks and small snacks will be offered before and between the concerts in front of the church.
