What's it about?

A man (Luis) discovers a hidden gold treasure in the basement of his newly acquired apartment. Overwhelmed by this luck, he quickly makes an impulsive decision: he buys a piece of art created by a monkey that depicts a banana taped to the canvas. However, with this purchase, he drags his family into financial and emotional catastrophe: his wife could have used the found treasure to establish herself as an artist, and their daughter could have financed her studies in America. As the play unfolds, it becomes clear that Luis has actually fallen in love with the artist (the monkey woman), and his wife gives him a choice: her or the monkey. The completely desperate Luis sees only one option: he eats the artwork - the banana - despite being severely allergic to bananas.
