What's it about?

Music to listen to again and again In an increasing atmosphere of uncertainty and bleak future scenarios, the need for security and stability, for retreat, inner reflection, and protection also grows. For people who find an anchor in their religion, this is somewhat assured. But even for people without traditional religious ties, sacred spaces can be a temporary home, providing the comfort that is especially needed. Church choirs have been part of Christian churches since the Reformation. They accompany (in rural areas) the daily life of village communities in a church context. Furthermore, church choirs are also places of communal action. Due to religious alienation, it is becoming increasingly difficult for choirs to keep up with societal trends by recruiting enough young members. The "Kirchenkonzert to go" aims to address various life circumstances of church visitors with short pieces based on individual songs from the classical repertoire – from great joy to deep sorrow. These "mini-concerts" are designed to showcase the choir's performance, present the musical repertoire, and introduce new songs to explore development opportunities, independent of the actual performance. Thus, the church experiences a reinterpretation of its own motto: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) The "Kirchenkonzert to go" can be heard at the Parish Church of Unterach at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Those who want to take the concert home can pick up a postcard with a QR code in the church foyer. The card provides information about the project, the sung songs, and can also be sent as a postcard. The project was implemented with the support of LEADER funding.
