Chansonabend mit Andrea Eckert
What's it about?
Andrea Eckert Sprachresonanzen I Beautiful enough to make you cry, bitter enough to make you laugh. With the series Sprachresonanzen, the Salzkammergut Festival Weeks Gmunden 2027 commemorate outstanding artists who have shaped the literary profile of the festival over the past four decades. Together with André Heller, to whom the 2016 literary focus was dedicated, Andrea Eckert developed this special evening that combines language, literature, and music into an intense artistic experience. In her multifaceted singing and recitation program, Andrea Eckert dedicates herself to works by significant Jewish poets, composers, and cabaret artists. Texts and songs by Friedrich Hollaender, Georg Kreisler, Kurt Weill, Randy Newman, André Heller, Barbara, Thomas Brasch, and Else Lasker-Schüler merge into moving cabinet pieces between melancholy and humor, longing and worldly wisdom. She is accompanied by Philipp Jagschitz on piano and Otmar Klein on accordion, saxophone, and clarinet. After the performance, Peter Grubmüller, culture chief of OÖ Nachrichten, will speak with Andrea Eckert about her collaboration with André Heller, the creation of the program, and the timeless relevance of its themes. André Heller about Andrea Eckert and this program: 'Andrea Eckert is a precious Austrian stage wonder. Missing performances by this exceptional artist is rightly considered a sin of omission among connoisseurs. Her program "Beautiful enough to make you cry, bitter enough to make you laugh" is a deeply moving homage to the Jewish soul of timeless relevance.' An evening full of poetry, music, and humanity—moving, intelligent, and of that power that art can unfold when it continues to resonate long after the last note and the last word.
