GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ANGLING IN UPPER AUSTRIA:1. Legal minimum age 12 years. Exceptions apply on Traunsee for fishermen under 12 years.2. Upper Austrian fishing license. Facilitation for guests from other federal states or other countries. The respective fishing authorization from the home country is recognized for the purchase of day and week passes.3. Upper Austrian license book with the respective annual stamp.TRAUNSEE - CURRENTLY NO ISSUANCE OF LICENSES:Angling on Traunsee is permitted from March 16 to November 15. It may only be practiced in compliance with the regulations, closed seasons, and minimum sizes, according to the operating regulations for Traunsee or the Upper Austrian State Fishing Law. Each license holder may fish with 2 rods, each with one bait. Fishing for char is allowed with 2 rods (with a maximum of 3 hooks each). Fish killers and hook removers must be carried and presented upon inspection. The following parts of the lake are closed for angling: 1) Hoffischer-Ort (Orter Bucht): this is the part of the lake west of the line from the northern edge of Seeschloss-Ort to the eastern corner of the former Lehen-aufsatz (next to Union-Yachtclub-Haus) and northwest of the bridge to Seeschloss-Ort, including the boat landing stage Schloss Ort. 2) Scherrerwasser: this is the part of the lake at the outlet of the lake in Gmunden, which is located north of the connecting line of two points marked by corresponding signs on the Esplanade and at the Schiffslände. 2) The Traun inflow in Ebensee and 30 m on both sides of the Traun estuary. Prohibited is: 1) All angling from the Orterbrücke into the Orterbucht (fishing is permitted on the lake side). 2) Trolling. 3) Fishing within a 50 m radius of a laid-out fishing pole (net buoy). 4) Carrying live bait fish. 5) The sale of caught fish for money or monetary value to anyone. 6) Fishing from a boat at night. 7) Laying out a spinning lure. Any undersized fish caught must be carefully removed from the hook and immediately returned to the lake. In case of damage to fishing nets, the angler must pay compensation. He must therefore immediately notify the net owner or a supervisory body. In case of violations of the above provisions as well as against the regulations of the operating regulations for Traunsee, or against the provisions of the Upper Austrian State Fishing Law, the fishing license can be revoked without reimbursement of the license fee.
