What's it about?
A documentary film from the European Capital of Culture Summer 2024. A street music journey through the Salzkammergut. Hubert von Goisern and his guests performed along lakeshores, city squares, in front of churches, on parking lots, in front of train stations, and even at a construction site as part of the European Capital of Culture 2024 celebrations. One day they were in a popular tourist town, another day they played in an old quarry at an inaccessible lakeshore reachable only by boat. Hubert von Goisern was accompanied by HvG-Culture Prize winners, long-time band members, and musical friends from the USA, who brought country vibes, bluegrass, and Latin American sounds to the Salzkammergut. The street music tour concluded in St. Wolfgang — the only Salzkammergut community not participating in the Capital of Culture year — with a remarkable, silent interpretation of 'Heast as nit'. Participating musicians included: Alex Pohn, Alex Trebo, Bob Bernstein, Christoph Sietzen, Enrique Martinez, Helmut Schartlmüller, Hubert von Goisern, Kimyan Law, Marcus Hinterberger, Maria Moling, Severin Trogbacher, Zelda Weber & The Rosettes. "I was never gone. I was outside, on the street, playing — with whoever was available. I invited people, whoever had time, was there. Learning to deal with constantly changing situations was both a challenge and an enrichment. We played around 50 concerts. It was not a vacation — it was better than a vacation."
