What's it about?

Courage to write history – from history to HERstory. Gmunden plays a special role in the program of communale oö 2026: the transition from history to HERstory. Women are deliberately reinterpreted from the 'dead angle' of male-dominated historiography, bringing their deeds, experiences, and contributions into focus – aspects often missing or still missing in traditional accounts. The exhibition „Not fit for Marketing“ features photographic works about female farmers and rural lifestyles away from classic advertising and image pictures. The focus is on perspectives that do not smooth over but instead look closely.
