The Berufsfischerei (professional fishing) is one of the oldest crafts in the world, practiced by only a few today. Benjamin Mayr aims to teach guests what it means to catch fish with a net, how fishermen learn to live with nature, and the value of wild catch, among other things, during the Fish Guiding. The tour starts at the authentic fisherman's hut on the east shore of Lake Traun, where there is a brief introduction to professional fishing. Afterwards, participants go out onto the lake on a fishing boat. Nets are lifted, and the biodiversity of Lake Traun is demonstrated. Back at the hut, traps are pulled and crab catching is illustrated.
