Neujahrsanschießen

What's it about?

The New Year's shooting is a deeply rooted Austrian traditional event where shooting clubs and community members come together to welcome the new year with a festive shooting competition. In Riedau, this established, annually recurring tradition takes place in January and has become an indispensable part of the village calendar over decades. The event combines sporting spirit, neighborhood solidarity, and the lively preservation of a custom that has connected multiple generations and shaped the region's identity. Spectators and active participants are warmly welcome to experience this special moment in local culture, to make new and old acquaintances, and to strengthen the village community.
