Egal wohin, Baby Seventy images, seventy stories, seventy literary masterpieces Here, someone makes his life visible through snapshots, narratively traversing continents and times, sometimes ironically, but always with passion and virtuosity, capturing the fleetingness of the moment. In memory of the classic photo album, in which the adventures of the moment were documented in keywords under often blurry pictures, Christoph Ransmayr tells seventy stories condensed into micro-novels for seventy of his black-and-white photographs in "Egal wohin, Baby". Each photo is an optical note, recorded by chance of presence and in passing with a smartphone or digital camera. Each text accompanying the image becomes a self-contained, sophisticated piece of prose: a micro-novel. Because even in a few lines, expeditions into the moments of reality and the boundlessness of imagination can be narrated — especially when done with the observational acuity and linguistic skill of the worldly-experienced Christoph Ransmayr.
