zwischen den Welten, mit K. El-Gawhary
What's it about?
The Soroptimist International Club Grieskirchen cordially invites to a high-profile information evening. The political developments in the Middle East are complex and shape current global geopolitics. Under the title "zwischen den Welten" (between the worlds), the renowned journalist and Middle East expert Karim El-Gawhary provides a well-founded analysis of the current situation beyond daily headlines. As the son of a German mother and an Egyptian father, he has always moved between cultures. He led the ORF Middle East bureau in Cairo for over two decades and now works as an independent journalist. One focus of the evening will be the situation of women in the Middle East. Karim El-Gawhary will examine the legal, societal, and economic realities of women in the region and also look behind common clichés. Take the opportunity to ask questions directly to the expert and receive reliable information firsthand. Starting at 6 p.m., a Soroptimist aperitivo will invite attendees to exchange ideas. The proceeds from this charity event will benefit regional non-profit projects.
