Richard Wagner: Siegfried Idyll in E major WWV 103 Reinhold Glière: Concerto for Harp and Orchestra in E-flat major, Op. 74 Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major, Op. 60 The Angelika Prokopp Sommerakademie of the Vienna Philharmonic has been a regular and successful guest at the Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden for many years. The orchestra unites highly talented young musicians from all over the world and offers them the opportunity to learn and develop the highest standards of orchestral playing under the guidance of members of the Vienna Philharmonic. This year's concert program combines three works of different sound worlds and forms of expression: Richard Wagner's Siegfried Idyll opens the evening. This is followed by Reinhold Glière's Concerto for Harp and Orchestra, one of the composer's best-known and most frequently performed works. The evening concludes with Ludwig van Beethoven's Fourth Symphony, a work of cheerful elegance and sonic transparency, created between the "Eroica" and the Fifth. The musical direction of the evening will be taken by the young conductor Martin Rajna, and the internationally sought-after harpist Anneleen Lenaerts, who already thrilled audiences at the 2025 Christmas concert, will perform as a soloist. A concert evening that impressively makes audible the connection between musical education at the highest level, vibrant Viennese sound tradition, and artistic present.
